Matt’s paintings straddle the boundary between representation and abstraction. He is especially drawn to the landscape and connecting with nature through his art. His paintings use observation as a point of departure, suggesting places both familiar and unknown. Matt has been a fixture in the Somerville arts community for over 25 years and is a founding member and first president of Somerville Open Studios. He has shown his work at various greater Boston locations and at the Watson MacRae Gallery on Sanibel Island in Florida.
